Mission: To promote the understanding of the benefits using smart cards in the financial sector.

The Smart Card Alliance Latin America (SCALA) Financial Payments Council leads the discussions on the migration of the current banking infrastructure to accept and issue smart cards for secure payments. This group focuses from card issuance to network security and user benefits. This council has helped to create the first smart cards for payments and government conference in Mexico City, Mexico.
