Welcome to the Smart Card Alliance Latin America

The Latin American chapter builds on the knowledge and experience of its member organizations to represent the industry and communicate positions in each market segment. This builds a strong industry alliance in the region, contributing to the expansion of smart card technology and a favorable business environment, providing an incentive for organizations to collaborate to accelerate the use of smart cards in Latin America.

Mission

The mission of the Smart Card Alliance Latin America (SCALA) is to stimulate the understanding, adoption, use, and widespread application of smart card technology through specific projects focused on Latin America. Such projects include: education programs, market research, advocacy, and industry relations, as well as bringing together, in an open forum, leading users and technologists, from both the public and private sectors.

SCALA is a chapter of the Smart Card Alliance (SCA), a not-for-profit, multi-industry association.

Vision

The vision of the Smart Card Alliance Latin America (SCALA) is to be the single industry voice for the smart card industry in Latin America, spreading the use and knowledge of smart card technology in the region. SCALA’s activities include participating in conferences and organization educational workshops, as well as facilitating relationships between U.S. and Latin American members of SCA and SCALA, respectively.
